EOS R5 star review
This article comes from Jiayou Online
This EOS R5 release, for landscape photographers, especially Hoshino photographers, the biggest concern may be its ability to focus at night and its high sense Noise control ability, after all, 45 million pixels, such a high pixel density, how long the night scene performance is, it is very exciting. At the same time, Canon is equipped with body anti-shake function for the first time, with the lens optical anti-shake can achieve up to 8 levels of anti-shake effect, which can be said to be quite powerful. Therefore, in this part of the real shooting experience, Hoshino photographer Yang Yong was invited to experience the powerful night shooting capabilities of EOS R5 with us.

I used the Canon Micro-EOS R as soon as it was released. At that time, I felt that Canon’s Micro-Single, lightweight and portable, had good picture quality and was a good camera suitable for taking pictures. After EOS R5 is released, I naturally have to hurry up and experience it as soon as possible. When the parameters were announced, I was more concerned about its body anti-shake performance, high-sensitivity performance, low-light focusing and endurance capabilities. Of course, you must try these things that I care most about when you get the real machine.
Up to 8 levels of anti-shake brings hand-held pure night shooting

The first is the body anti-shake. You must know that Canon’s lens anti-shake has been done very well. In the past, handheld shooting at a shutter speed of 1 second can also have a certain chance of taking a stable picture, and 0.5 seconds is basically very stable. Up. This time EOS R5 is equipped with body anti-shake, which can achieve a maximum of about 8 levels of anti-shake correction effect when working alone, which is quite curious. So I took a few hand-held shots at night with low sensitivity, and the results proved that the anti-shake is really strong.

100% Zoom in on the screenshot, the focus is clear and not shaken
You can see that whether it is 1 second or 2.5 second handheld shooting, the picture is very clear, which means that handheld low-sensitivity shooting night scenes becomes possible. I can put the camera in my bag, no matter day or night, I can take pictures at any time when I see the scenery, and I can get more pure pictures, and I will not regret to miss the scenery because I did not bring the tripod. Strong anti-shake performance is very useful in shooting scenes such as hand-held shooting night scenes, low-speed shutter performance flow effects, special angle shooting with unstable camera posture, and shooting scenes where you want to reduce the sensitivity as much as possible to obtain low-noise image quality. When shooting with wide-angle and standard focal lengths, the body anti-shake is more practical, while when shooting with a long focal length, the lens anti-shake is more practical, and the EOS R5 combines body anti-shake and lens optical anti-shake, which can be used at different focal lengths. Play a very good hand-shake compensation effect.
fast focusing in low light, high pixels and good sense

zoom in the screenshot, you can see that the picture quality is fine and the picture details are very good Keep
Of course, high sense is sometimes necessary, so the high sense image quality of R5 still needs to be concerned. Although the high sense of 25600 is usually not used, in order to feel the high sense of EOS R5, I still used ISO 25600 to take a night scene photo. Generally, the high-sensitivity performance of high-pixel cameras is relatively weak, but as far as my personal experience is concerned, this photo is generally acceptable. Noise is naturally inevitable, but it is basically the same as some previous models at ISO 6400 sensitivity, and this is shot at ISO 25600 sensitivity, which is naturally clear and pure.

Low light focusing has always been Canon’s micro-single Strengths, EOS R5 can focus in a dark environment with a limit of -6EV. For example, in the above test scene, although human eyes can see it, if you used SLR to shoot before, without light assist or turn on the focus assist lamp, you need to focus manually, but now the EOS R5 can focus very well. The last thing to say is that the EOS R5’s body control has returned to a professional layout, and it can be operated quickly at night. The new LP-E6NH battery improves the battery life of the machine. I have been shooting from the afternoon to midnight without any problems, even There is battery remaining.
