Sigma will release a series of new lenses specially designed for RF mounts
Recently, there are rumors that the famous camera lens subsidiary Sigma will release a series of brand new Canon RF mount lenses. Although there is no more information, some insiders hint that this series of lenses will be very unique and will be more differentiated compared with many existing RF mount lens products.
We know that brands such as Sony have been cooperating very deeply with lens sub-factories such as Sigma, Tamron, and Zeiss. In order to create more E-mount derivatives, Sony even shared some technical details of the E-mount to these lens sub-factories. In order to maintain the ecology of its original lens, Canon has always been conservative in its cooperation with sub-factories. In this regard, Canon should learn more from Sony.
Now, the autofocus systems of major camera manufacturers are becoming more and more complicated due to algorithms related to AI machine learning. Sigma needs to invest more time and energy to adapt and optimize the software in order to make its new lens achieve the same effect as the Canon original in terms of autofocus performance.
As for the release date, it may have to wait until 2021.
