Sony Registers Inter-lens Shutter Patent for Interchangeable Lens
Sony is registering the inter-lens shutter patent for the interchangeable lens. Sony’s pocket machine RX1 series has used the inter-lens shutter, but this time the patent is for the interchangeable lens.
According to the position of the shutter in the camera, it can be divided into front lens, middle lens, rear lens, mirror and focal plane shutter. At present, most SLR cameras use focal plane shutter. In-lens shutter is commonly used in medium format, large format and Some small and lightweight models. This patent may be in preparation for Sony’s upcoming E-mount lens, or it may be mounted on Sony’s new medium format camera.
The advantage of the inter-lens shutter is its small size and the flash can be synchronized at all shutter speeds. The disadvantage is that if you need to change the lens, each lens needs a shutter, such as Hasselblad, and the shutter speed is very limited.
