It is reported that the foreign media Opticallimits has tested the domestic Viltrox 20mm f/1.8 FE lens and came to the following conclusions:
Viltrox PFU RBMH 20mm f / 1.8 ASPH has entered a very competitive market with the same specifications, but it has two distinctive features that distinguish it from other competitors. First of all, its maximum aperture is F1.8, the sharpness in the center is very good, and the edges are relatively soft. This may or may not be important, depending on the user’s application needs. If you need to shoot with a shallow depth of field, then this is not a problem, but if you are shooting astrophotography, it is not ideal. When the aperture is reduced, the image quality will be greatly improved. The lateral dispersion is low, so you don’t have to worry about distortion. Although the vignetting angle is high, for this level of lens, the out-of-focus imaging is very good.
Because of the tightly assembled all-metal structure, the quality of workmanship is excellent. But the price paid is heavier weight and its size is not small. And it does not provide three-proof sealing performance, but it is not surprising at this price. If you like to shoot video, then it has a stepless aperture ring-but no step mode. Since it is a fully manual lens without electronic coupling contacts, the aperture and EXIF data controlled by the camera cannot be provided. This lens comes with two different hoods, one is optimized for shooting, and the second can be fitted with traditional large filters.
Of course, another difference is the price. It costs less than US$400/Euro, which is not only very affordable, but also a very cheap product considering the large aperture.
